Invisalign Clear aligners are crystal clear and made with special technology to be more comfortable while gently moving your teeth into their proper position. Patients find the Invisalign aligners to be less painful than traditional braces. You can get the results you want, in as little as 6 months. Invisalign gives you the ability to eat whatever you want with no restrictions and continue all your normal daily activities.

Dr. Poldek has been providing his patients with Invisalign treatment since 2007. In 2022, he earned Invisalign’s Platinum Provider status.

The Invisalign Process

First Appointment-Free Consultation

Your first appointment will be your Free Consultation. Dr. Poldek and his staff will meet with you to discuss any concerns you currently have about your smile, as well as your smile goal.

First, you will be scanned by the 3D iTero Scanner. Dr. Poldek will carefully review the 3D scan to customize the treatment that is right for you. Our clinical team will show you what your new smile will look like using the Invisalign Outcome Simulator.

Once you accept the proposed treatment, our clinical staff will take a series of pictures of your smile, upper and lower jaw and a Panoramic Xray. After all the imaging is taken, we will submit everything to Invisalign, and they will create your customized clear aligners.

Second Appointment-Aligner Delivery

At your second appointment you will be given 6 trays to be worn for two weeks at a time. Depending on your case, attachments that are small tooth-colored shapes will be attached to your teeth. These attachments are like handles, giving the aligners something to gently engage and apply the right amount of force in the right direction. Some patients will also require more space for their teeth to be able to move, we create space by doing Interproximal Reduction (IPR).

12 Week Appointments-Check Ins
You will need to be seen in our office every 12 weeks thereafter to ensure proper movement and to receive your next 6 trays.

Final Appointments-Retainers

Once you and Dr. Poldek are satisfied with your results, we will remove your attachments and order one set of customized retainers. The retainers usually take 2-3 weeks to arrive. These retainers will need to be worn every night. Additional sets of retainers can be purchased at any time.

Invisalign FAQ

Do I have to wear my aligners all day, every day?
YES! You MUST wear your aligners at least 20-22 hours every day to ensure proper movement. Failure to do so, will result in improper movement, delay treatment, and will negatively impact your results. The aligners only need to be removed while eating and during your oral hygiene routine. Smoking, drinking coffee, red wine or soda while wearing the aligners can alter their color. We recommend cleaning them more frequently.

How do I take care of my aligners?

Dr. Poldek recommends you soak your aligners in a cleaning solution for 10-15 minutes daily. Simply rinse the aligners off with water and start wearing them again.

You can purchase the cleaning product directly through Invisalign. For a more affordable option, Kleenite can be purchased on Amazon.

What should I do if I lose or break my aligners?

Call our office right away! We will work out the best plan of action for your situation. In most situations we will advance you to your next aligner.

What should I do if loose an attachment?

Call the office and we will advise you on what to do. Most likely, it can wait until your next visit. In some cases, you will need to come in and have it replaced.

Can I Whiten My Teeth during treatment?

Yes! Almost all of our patients whiten during their Invisalign treatment. The attachments do not affect the whitening of the tooth underneath.

Is Invisalign painful?

The aligners work by moving your teeth and putting constant gentle pressure on them. Therefore, some people experience a little bit of discomfort the first couple of days after the new set of aligners.

My teeth feel loose when I take out my aligners, is this normal?

Yes! Your Invisalign aligners gradually shift your teeth into their proper position, your gums are re-forming around each tooth as it moves. Be sure to call our office about any concerns.
